It’s Independence Day!

Here’s a quick update/comment as it approaches 6pm:  A month ago today I was living in dread of this weekend. If you read this blog regularly, you know why. It has come to pass, though, that things have turned around in ways I did NOT foresee at that time. This has been a terrific weekend. Duffy’s been on call the whole time but only had one short trip out – an accident that took him a couple hours to take care of. Other than that we’ve puttered around the house, watched western movies and baseball, read our books, ate some FABulous food (today was ribeye steaks and corn on the cob that he grilled)…he mowed the yard today and when I got home from the commissary the last time, he’d closed up the camper…whoa.

Because he’s been homebound this weekend, we’re headed for Mayport so he can spend some time falling off his surfboard first thing in the morning, shortly after Kaylee gets here.

I am so thankful to have this chance – and change – in my life.

Hope your day was HALF as good as mine, and thanks so much for stopping by!
