The Quotable Rogue: The Ideals of Sarah Palin In Her Own Words (review)

I got this book from BookSneeze because I like Matt Lewis, the editor. Sarah Palin is like many women I
knew growing up in Montana and southern Alberta. Strong, compassionate, funny...and considered a
strange animal by SO many city folk. She's not the least bit squeamish and has little time for
simpering or dilly-dallying. When you read these quotes, you'll realize Governor Palin is a completely
different woman than the one portrayed in the media. Her words have not only been twisted,
but words she never said have been attributed to her. Sarah Palin's down-home, simple but thoughtful
self comes through in the quotes in this book.

Matt Lewis has organized the quotes he's chosen into an easily readable format,
with an excellent index so I could find a quote to fit any topic I needed.

On Energy Policy:
It is absurd that we are borrowing from one foreign country to buy oil from another.
It is a threat to our national security and economic well-being.
It is well past time for America to develop our own supplies. ~April 29, 2008

On Gun Control:
Left-wing groups talk about eating organic, wholesome food. We do that. We just happen
to shoot it first...I have bad news for these groups. Bambi's mother is dinner - even in L.A.
Where do those people think their venison comes from? The deer didn't die of natural causes.
It wasn't road kill. ~May 14, 2010

On Health Care:
The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Sydrome
will have to stand in front of Obama's "death panel" so his bureaucrats can decide,
based on subjective judgement of their "level of productivity in society," whether they are worthy
of health care. Such a system is downright evil. ~August 7, 2009

You may not like Sarah Palin - I don't agree with her 100% myself, though I admire her -
her grit, her humour, her love for her family and her Country. But you may also see
the real Sarah Palin when you read through these quotes, not the Sarah Palin you THINK you know.
