Raising children is not beyond a parent’s capability.

Trust me on this.

When did the I-don’t-have-the-patience-to-deal-with-my-own-children thinking become the norm? What has persuaded us, at one time had persuaded me, that we don’t have the wherewithal to handle the very blessings many of us begged God to give us?

Read this earlier on a homeschooler website called “Hip Homeschool Moms.” Good question. When did parents give up the right to raise their own children? Since when does it take a Master’s Degree to teach a child to read and do arithmetic?

Since the Department of Education got involved, of course.

Since education seems to be the topic here today, I also read this earlier, about Louisiana’s attempt to educate poor children – without the questionable assistance of the teacher’s union, and in fact IN SPITE OF the union. There are more links to more stories at the end of the article, including this one by PROUD Georgia Bulldog Dan Mitchell (Flat tax or National Title for the Dawgs – it’s a good thing he doesn’t have to make that choice).

Now, speaking of ‘education,’ I’m going to shower and go get Kaylee for her swim lesson. May well be the best part of my day. Y’all have a fine day, y’hear? And thanks for stopping by.
