States’ Rights is still a thing, and Senator Smith of Billings KNOWS it. I am so proud to be Born Montana…
HELENA – A state panel on Wednesday heard a bill that would prohibit local law enforcement from enforcing any new future federal bans on firearms and magazines, even though lobbyists representing those groups oppose such a proposal.
Senate Bill 99, known as “Montana Federal 10 Firearm and Magazine Ban Enforcement Prohibition Act,” was introduced by Sen. Cary Smith, R-Billings, to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which took no action Wednesday.
Smith said he believed there are already enough “reasonable regulations” and his bill would direct law enforcement to not to enforce any new laws that come from Washington.
